Asa has years of choral experience under Dr. Robert Russell as a member of the USM Chamber Singers and the Choral Art Society Singers and Camerata, and a year with Philip Fournier's Cathedral Schola Cantorum, a modern ensemble steeped in the traditions of the Medieval and Renaissance. He studied at the School of Music at the University of Southern Maine in addition to his vast independent musical research.
In addition to his passion for early music, Asa spends his time teaching guitar, fiddle, and voice lessons in an independent studio, and is apprenticing in the craft of violin-making. He explores many musical styles and instruments, and plans to attend formal study in luthiery.
