Jessica Sytsma was born in England. She furthered her studies in violin and piano at the Royal College of Music Junior Department in London from 2000. Her interest in period performance began in 2004 at the University of York, where she studied baroque violin with Nia Lewis and Daniel Edgar and played with the University Baroque Ensemble under the direction of Peter Seymour. Her solo period performances have covered a range of Italian and German repertoire from early baroque composers through to Beethoven. Jessica moved to Maine in 2010 with her husband, Samuel, where they pursue a mutual passion for music performance and teaching as well as homesteading. Jessica plays a copy of Guarneri del Gesù's 1734 'Haddock' violin made for her by Filippo Protani in 2010.
